Working with Celebrities: Shaina Magdayao

Back in 2007, I worked with popular Filipina singer and actress Shaina Magdayao. I co-arranged for her the Avon Naturals jingle for a live performance. Along with my role as arranger, I also supervised her during the recording.

I think she was only 15 or 16 years young back then but she already had a mature singing voice. Shaina had lots of positive energy during the recording. At first I thought she would be a “prima donna” but she wasn’t.

Back then, though her singing voice was pleasant to hear, it could be improved technically. But I’m pretty she would be as great a singer as her big sis Vina Morales as she grows up. She was very cooperative during the recording session and bubbly as well.
